〜 イングリッシュガーデンで踊るバレリーナのような可愛らしいパステル調の花束 〜

A charming, pastel bouquet reminiscent of a ballerina dancing in an English garden

 

みなさま、こんにちは。サリーです。

5月。新緑が眩しい季節ですね。イングリッシュガーデンでは、次々と咲き出す美しい薔薇に交えて、ハーブやきゃしゃな小花も顔を出します。

今回のレッスンでは、そのようなイングリッシュガーデンのステージで踊るバレリーナをイメージした花束を作ります。パステル色の花をスパイラル（螺旋状）に束ねながら、軽やかにまとめていきます。微かな花柄の布地で可愛いドレスを着せて仕上げましょう。

Hello everyone,

​May. The season of lush greenery. In the English garden, beautiful roses bloom one after another, interspersed by herbs and other dainty flowers.

For this lesson, we will make a bouquet resembling a ballerina dancing on just such an English garden stage. Pastel coloured flowers are gathered into an airy bunch using the spiral technique. To finish off the bouquet, we’ll make a pretty ‘dress’ out of pale floral printed fabric.

「Spring Nest」

 

〜 イースターの伝統色でまとめた、可愛らしい、ナチュラルなネスト風アレンジメント 〜

A charming, natural nest-like arrangement in traditional Easter colours

 

みなさま、こんにちは。サリーです。

4月から新しい生活を始める方が多いと思います。人間だけではないです。公園を散歩中に、巣作りを頑張っている鳥たちも見かけることもありますね。枝や草、羽などを器用に編み込んで様々な形の巣を作り上げます。

鳥たちにはかなわないのですが、今回のレッスンでは、春らしいネスト風のアレンジメントを作ります！

もちろん、ベースとなるネストを作ることから始まりますよ！みなさまはどんなネストを作るか、楽しみです！形や質感の異なる、春の花をネストの延長線上にナチュラルにアレンジしていきます。巣のイメージをさらに強調するために、アクセントに卵も隠れ気味で入っています。

Hello everyone,

​April is a time when many people start new lives and routines. And it‘s not just people. Walking in the park, we may also come across birds busily building nests, assembling and weaving twigs, grasses, feathers etc. into various shapes with great dexterity.

I’m afraid we cannot beat the birds, but for this lesson we will make a nest-like arrangement perfect for spring.

Of course, that means starting with making the nest as the base and I’m looking forward to seeing the kinds of nests everyone comes up with! Then we will arrange the flowers very naturally as an extension of the nest itself. And to further accentuate the nest aspect, there’s even an egg or two partially hidden inside!

Easter is not that well known in Japan but since this year it happens to fall in April, for this arrangement I’ve selected a colour scheme based around the traditional colours of Easter.

「Fragrant Fountain」

〜 噴水をイメージした、甘い香りと動きを楽しむボトルアレンジ  〜

A fountain-like bottle arrangement full of sweet scents and flowing movement

 

みなさま、こんにちは。サリーです。

写真を整理していたら、以前に訪れたイギリスのとあるガーデンのアンティークな2段噴水に目が止まりました。いいなぁ。でもうちのバルコニーには無理、無理！残念！本物は諦めましたが、噴水風のアレンジメントなら素敵かも、と思いました。

そんなわけで、今回のレッスンでは、噴水を想像しながら、4方見のアレンジを作っていただきたいと思います。香り高い、春らしいピンク系の花をこんもりといけて、その中から枝の美しい曲線や細長い葉で噴水の流れを表現しましょう！

水を更に強調するため、器は色水の入ったグラス瓶を使います。水の色を変えれば、また違った雰囲気も楽しんでいただけます。

みなさまにお会いするのを楽しみにしています。

 

Hello everyone,

The other day I was sorting through my old photos and came across one of an antique two-tier fountain in an English garden I had visited.  I fell in love with it again and it got me thinking about having one myself.  But, of course it’s impossible on my balcony.  So, I thought, if I can't have the real thing then why not make a fountain-like flower arrangement to enjoy instead!

So, for this lesson that's exactly what we will do!

Fragrant, pink spring flowers are massed, with beautifully curved branches and foliage expressing the water flowing from the fountain. To further accentuate the water theme, we will use a glass bottle filled with coloured water. Changing the colour of the water gives a different feel to the design.
