A delightful early autumn arrangement in shades of brown

みなさま、こんにちは。サリーです。

まだまだ暑いですね。気持ちだけは秋に向かっていますが…！

今回のレッスンでは秋を感じさせてくれる、茶色アレンジメントを作りたいと思います。

ベージュの扇型器に合わせて、こげ茶・ベージュ・アイボリー色の花や葉に凹凸をつけながらあしらいます。

美味しそうなワンポイントにシナモンスティックも加えましょう。

イメージサンプルには編み込んだ「リボン」をハンドルのようにつけてみました。そのままテーブルに飾っていただいてもいいし、吊るしてもお楽しみいただけます。仕上げは、みなさまのアイディア次第で！！

It is still hot, but I for one am already looking ahead to autumn!

For this lesson we will make an autumn-like arrangement in shades of brown.

Dark brown, beige and ivory flowers and leaves are arranged at different heights following the line of a beige fan-shaped container.  A stick of cinnamon adds a tasty decorative touch.

For the sample photo, I have added a ‘ribbon’ handle, so the arrangement can be enjoyed either placed on a table or hung up, but I leave the finishing touch to everyone’s creativity!!

「Nostalgia

〜 ノスタルジックな色合いで作るワイルドな夏のスワッグ 〜

A wild summer swag in nostalgic colour tones

みなさま、こんにちは。サリーです。

暑中お見舞い申し上げます。

連日の猛暑ですが、いかがお過ごしでしょうか。

今回のレッスンでは、この異常な暑さの中でも、ドアや壁に綺麗に飾っていただけるスワッグのご提案です。

子供の頃、夏になると、ピクニックを持って近くの自然公園や野原によく行っていました。その場所に自然に生えている木を始め、ブラックベリー、タンポポ、ネコジャラシのような草花に囲まれて、フリズビーやバドミントンで楽しく遊んだ記憶があります。

そのような懐かしい自然風景をイメージしながら、セピア色の植物や枝を束ねて、少しワイルドな雰囲気のスワッグを作ります。

ワンポイントに細工した葉や鉛のリボンをつけて仕上げていきます。

スワッグのフレッシュな状態はもちろん、ドライになっていく過程もお楽しみいただけます。

I hope you are keeping well despite the extremely hot weather we are having these days.

For this lesson, we will make a swag for the door or wall that can be enjoyed even in this unusually sweltering heat.

When I was a child, during the summer we often went picnicking in the nearby country parks or fields. I have memories of playing frisby and badminton surrounded by trees, blackberries, dandelions, bristlegrass and other grasses growing wild in those places.

Drawing inspiration from that kind of nostalgic natural scene, we will gather various sepia-coloured plants and branches into a slightly wild looking swag.

We will finish off with an accent of worked leaves and lead ribbon.

「Fresh Collage

〜 自然素材で作るコラージュ風アレンジ 〜

A collage-style arrangement using natural materials

みなさま、こんにちは。サリーです。

気温が急に暑くなって、体がついていかないですね。

体調管理はもちろんのことですが、暑さに負けないように、元気が出るブルーとオレンジ色を基調としたアレンジメントを作りませんか。

学校などで紙や布を貼り合わせてコラージュを作った経験がある方が多いと思いますが、今回のレッスンでは、形や質感の異なる花・葉・野菜を、編み込んだ枝のベースにコラージュ風にデザインします。水面を見せて、涼も楽しみましょう。

I don’t know about you but with the sudden rise in temperatures, my body is finding it hard to adjust!

I hope you are keeping in good shape, but how about making an arrangement in lively shades of blue and orange as another way to avoid the heat getting the better of you?

I’m sure many of you have experience from school of sticking together paper, cloth etc. to make collages, but for this lesson we’re going to make a collage-style design using flowers, leaves and vegetables of various shapes and textures using a base of interwoven branches. The visible water surface also brings a welcome cooling touch.
