「The Shoreline」
〜 太陽が降り注ぐ浜辺に砕ける波をイメージした、おしゃれな夏スワッグ 〜
A stylish summer swag inspired by waves breaking on a sun-drenched beach
みなさま、こんにちは。サリーです。
ジメジメした季節を早く通過して、自分の心はとにかく夏に向かっています！
夏休みに海に訪れる方は多いのではないでしょうか。裸足で砂浜を散歩して、砕ける波を見るのが好きです。（あら、ちょっとロマチックですかね？！）
今回のレッスンはそのような夏の風景を描いた、ちょっと珍しいスワッグを作ります。
スワッグとはいえ、一般的な「花を束ねる」というような作りではなく、細長くなるように、花のパーツをバランスよくワイヤーでからげていきます。出来上がった「白波」のガーランドを波形の葉の間に挟んで、リボンをつけて仕上げます。
そのままドライになりますので、夏の間はもちろん、長くお楽しみいただけます。

Hello everyone,
I don’t know about you, but I am already looking towards summer, hoping to get through the current wet and grey days pretty quickly!
I guess many people visit the sea during summer. I personally like to walk barefoot along the sandy beach and watch the waves breaking on the beach. (I am a romantic perhaps?!!!)
For this lesson, we will make a rather unique swag based on such a summer setting.
Although we call it a swag, rather than applying the typical technique of gathering flowers into a bunch, instead we will bind all the parts together with wire into a long and narrow shape. This ‘white wave’ garland is then set in between wave-shaped leaves and finished off with ribbon.
The swag will dry naturally and so can be enjoyed not just for summer but for many months beyond.

「A Room with a View」
〜窓から眺める美しい景色を描いた、一味違うアレンジメント 〜
A unique arrangement based on a beautiful view from a window
みなさま、こんにちは。サリーです。
先日、グングン伸びているバルコニーの花や葉たちをリビングから眺めていましたが、特にこの時期は、窓が植物で埋め尽くされているように見えます。直接見る景色より、窓から見る景色が枠によって限定され、想像力を働かせてくれているような気がします。
…ということで、今回のレッスンでは、そのような窓越しの景色をイメージしたアレンジを作ります。配色は、コントラストが美しいオレンジ色と紫色に爽やかなグリーンのアクセントを加えています。写真の景色は、大小の様々な形状の花をナチュラルにガーデン風にいけていきます。
もちろん、窓も手作りですので形も自由です。
みなさまはどんな景色を描くのか楽しみです！

The other day I was gazing out of the living room window at the rapid growth of foliage and flowers coming into bloom on the balcony. At this time of year especially the plants appear to fill the entire window. It seems to me that this kind of view from a window, which is limited due to the window pane, makes one’s imagination work harder than viewing a scene directly.
… so, for this lesson we will make an arrangement inspired by just such a view from a window!
The colour scheme for the arrangement uses beautifully contrasting orange and purple together with a refreshing green accent. The sample uses flowers of various shapes and sizes arranged in a natural garden style design.
Of course, the window is also handmade, so you can make your own style of window too!
I wonder what the view from your window will be!

「The Garden Ballerina」
〜 イングリッシュガーデンで踊るバレリーナのような可愛らしいパステル調の花束 〜
A charming, pastel bouquet reminiscent of a ballerina dancing in an English garden
みなさま、こんにちは。サリーです。
5月。新緑が眩しい季節ですね。イングリッシュガーデンでは、次々と咲き出す美しい薔薇に交えて、ハーブやきゃしゃな小花も顔を出します。
今回のレッスンでは、そのようなイングリッシュガーデンのステージで踊るバレリーナをイメージした花束を作ります。パステル色の花をスパイラル（螺旋状）に束ねながら、軽やかにまとめていきます。微かな花柄の布地で可愛いドレスを着せて仕上げましょう。

Hello everyone,
May. The season of lush greenery. In the English garden, beautiful roses bloom one after another, interspersed by herbs and other dainty flowers.
For this lesson, we will make a bouquet resembling a ballerina dancing on just such an English garden stage. Pastel coloured flowers are gathered into an airy bunch using the spiral technique. To finish off the bouquet, we’ll make a pretty ‘dress’ out of pale floral printed fabric.

「Spring Nest」
〜 イースターの伝統色でまとめた、可愛らしい、ナチュラルなネスト風アレンジメント 〜
A charming, natural nest-like arrangement in traditional Easter colours
みなさま、こんにちは。サリーです。
4月から新しい生活を始める方が多いと思います。人間だけではないです。公園を散歩中に、巣作りを頑張っている鳥たちも見かけることもありますね。枝や草、羽などを器用に編み込んで様々な形の巣を作り上げます。
鳥たちにはかなわないのですが、今回のレッスンでは、春らしいネスト風のアレンジメントを作ります！
もちろん、ベースとなるネストを作ることから始まりますよ！みなさまはどんなネストを作るか、楽しみです！形や質感の異なる、春の花をネストの延長線上にナチュラルにアレンジしていきます。巣のイメージをさらに強調するために、アクセントに卵も隠れ気味で入っています。

Hello everyone,
April is a time when many people start new lives and routines. And it‘s not just people. Walking in the park, we may also come across birds busily building nests, assembling and weaving twigs, grasses, feathers etc. into various shapes with great dexterity.
I’m afraid we cannot beat the birds, but for this lesson we will make a nest-like arrangement perfect for spring.
Of course, that means starting with making the nest as the base and I’m looking forward to seeing the kinds of nests everyone comes up with! Then we will arrange the flowers very naturally as an extension of the nest itself. And to further accentuate the nest aspect, there’s even an egg or two partially hidden inside!
Easter is not that well known in Japan but since this year it happens to fall in April, for this arrangement I’ve selected a colour scheme based around the traditional colours of Easter.
